Georgina Gharsallah was 30 years old when she went missing on 7 March 2018 from Worthing, West Sussex. She left her home in Normandy Road telling her mother she had some things to do, including getting her phone fixed.
Described as 5ft 4in in height and of slim build with Arabian features, shoulder length dark hair, often worn in a top knot, with a Monroe-style piercing above her lip. Georgina speaks Arabic among friends. When last seen, she was wearing a grey jacket with a fur-lined hood, grey cowl necked jumper, black jeans, black boots and was carrying a grey handbag.
Andrea Frances raised a formal missing report with police on 17 March 2018 after failed attempts to communicate with her daughter. She delayed making contact because Georgina had told her she was thinking of going to Brighton to visit friends.
Sussex Police secured CCTV of Georgina at 9.30am in the Clifton Food and Wine off licence store on Clifton Road, speaking to the shop owner. On leaving the shop she turned right into the town centre.
The Major Investigation Team (MIT) took over the case on 26 March 2018 with Georgina classed as a high risk missing person. It was established she had not used her phone, social media accounts, bank card or accessed her bank account. In the early days, the hypothesis was that she was believed to have been around Worthing or she could have travelled to the Rottingdean area of Brighton.
On 20 April 2018, a witness claimed to have seen a woman matching Georgina’s description with two men in Tarring Road between 7-8pm. This sighting has since been discredited by Sussex Police. Separately, two men known to Georgina were arrested on suspicion of murder, but later released without further action and eliminated from the investigation.
In August 2019, Sussex Police changed the status of Georgina’s case to a murder investigation. New CCTV was also released of someone who they believe to be Georgina with another female at 4pm on the same day on Chapel Road in Worthing town centre. At the same time, Crimestoppers kindly increased the reward to £10,000, which has subsequently been increased to £20,000.
Georgina features in season two, episode 19 of The Missing Podcast where Andrea speaks to a Pandora Sykes about her daughter’s disappearance (available on Amazon Music and other podcast platforms).
Kyle Vaughan left home and never returned. His car was found, having been involved in a single-vehicle crash, but no sign of Kyle himself. His family have desperately wanted answers for all this time, and his mother sadly passed away without ever finding out what happened to her son.
Kyle's disappearance sparked one of the biggest police searches Wales has ever seen, with the missing person inquiry eventually becoming a murder investigation. At one point, eight people were arrested. However, after almost 900 witness statements, the case remained unsolved. In 2016, Kyle's family received a presumption of death certificate.
His father Alan, pictured here in a shirt that reads 'Find Kyle', said in 2021: "If Kyle was still here he would be going round the world now. Kyle was a party animal and he loved astonishing us. He did a lot of charity work for cancer charities because of his mum and he was very brainy with computers. He also taught himself to play drums. He had a charisma about him with all his friends and he was like a magnet."
They denied kyles mother of her last wish before she died and that was to find her son. They watched the pain and torment behind every appeal mary had done, still they sit there silent.
Police have released a fresh appeal for information, in the hope they can finally give Kyle's family some closure. They believe that someone out there has that vital missing piece they need. If you are this person, please reach out to Gwent Police and quote log reference 397 30/12/12.
